We were honored to host Governor of the Bank of Israel Dr. Karnit Flug, at Reuth. Dr. Flug arrived together with the leadership team of the Bank, including Dr. Edward (Akiva) Offenbacher. Dr Offenbacher’s parents and grandparents were dedicated volunteers and supporters of the American Friends of Reuth and as a third generation of Reuth’s lay leaders, he continues to be involved in our work.
Dr Flug met with Holocaust survivors in the Community Housing and was moved by their painful stores and even more so, by the solace they have found at Reuth.
At the Reuth Rehabilitation Hospital, Dr. Flug toured the rehabilitation departments, the Weingarten Children’s Department and the new pain clinic, and met with senior staff. She was greatly impressed with the professionalism and the quality of work carried out at the hospital.
The visit was led by Executive Director Ido Sharir and Deputy Executive Director Miriam Frankel and Dr David Dvir the Deputy Director General of the hospital.
